*To keep your homemade sourdough bread fresh and maintain its texture, follow these storage tips:Short-term storage (1-2 days): • At Room Temperature: • Store the bread in a paper bag or wrap it in a clean cotton or linen towel. This helps the crust stay crisp while preventing the bread from drying out. • Keep it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Avoid plastic bags as they trap moisture, softening the crust and promoting mold.Medium-term storage (3-5 days): • Wrap in Beeswax Wrap or Parchment Paper, then place it in a bread box. This setup balances airflow and moisture retention, keeping the crust intact while slowing down staling. • If the crust softens, you can revive it by popping the bread in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-10 minutes.Long-term storage (up to 3 months): • Freezing: • Slice the bread before freezing so you can pull out individual pieces as needed. • Wrap the loaf or slices tightly in plastic wrap or foil, then place them in an airtight bag (like a freezer-safe Ziploc) to prevent freezer burn. • To reheat, thaw at room temperature or toast slices directly from frozen. A whole loaf can be refreshed in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 15-20 minutes. This method ensures your bread stays delicious and fresh as long as possible!
